Dreams
These chevroned waves start from
the mind, ending only there, myriad
shapes moving as shadow puppets.
There now an island alluring, a mere
mirage of a choppy sea; chaperoned
apparitions for vespertine hours;
desires waltzing on the inner palisades.
Love lingers in the air as lust leaves
through the secret doors and rusty hinges.
And one day phantasm fizzle out in a seismic reality check.
