Jeremy Platt – amateur narcissus

amateur narcissus

this puddle colours me in gentle raindrop waves
i’m beautiful
i really am

islands of sapphire sky and abandoned music
enter my mouth and ears like words and i can speak

on reflection
i choose silence

though once
when my head combusted with infantile starlit rhythms
i was a poet
